Camp Roles
The key positions we are looking to fill each summer.

Volunteers
Volunteers at Green Hill Lake Camp are guests, ages 14 and up, who want to stay connected to camp and contribute to its ministry. Prospective volunteers participate in our TEAM training camp, which equips them with the skills, knowledge, and heart for service at camp. Upon successful completion of the program, volunteers are invited to join us for a “volunteer week,” serving in areas that align with both camp needs and their availability.

Volunteers serve in a variety of roles, including: Camp Life (cleaning), Kitchen Assistants, Junior Cabin Leading, and Maintenance. Through their service, volunteers gain experience, grow in leadership and teamwork, and deepen their connection to the Green Hill Lake community.
Leader in Training (LIT)
Our LITs are emerging leaders, ages 15 and up, who apply, interview, and commit to serving for the duration of the summer. While not salaried staff, they participate in a fundraising initiative called Share-A-Wage, which provides a small honorarium at summer’s end. The true value of the program is the chance to grow in leadership, faith, and teamwork within the safe, supportive camp community.

LITs serve in a variety of roles, including: Camp Life (cleaning), Kitchen Assistants, Junior Cabin Leading, Maintenance, Lifeguard Assistants (Bronze Cross or higher), and Camper Assistants (supporting guests with exceptional needs).

Lifeguard
Our lifeguards are salaried staff who hold current National Lifeguard Service (NLS) certification. They provide supervision and safety at the pool, aquapark, and during all waterfront out-trips, ensuring that every camper can enjoy the water with confidence. Beyond their training and vigilance, lifeguards bring a calm and encouraging presence, helping campers of all ages feel comfortable and supported.
While their primary focus is water safety, they also contribute to the camp community by helping out where needed, making them an integral part of the Green Hill Lake team.
Cabin Leader
Cabin Leaders are salaried staff who live in a cabin with up to 12 campers of varying ages, providing daily care, guidance, and encouragement. They are at the heart of the camp experience, building strong relationships, modeling Christ-like character, and creating a safe and welcoming environment where every camper can thrive. Cabin Leaders also lead daily devotions and prayer, helping campers grow spiritually while fostering meaningful conversations about faith.
Beyond cabin life, they participate fully in camp programs, lead sessions, and contribute to the wider camp community.

Support Staff
Support Staff are salaried team members who serve in key supervisory and coordination roles. Under the leadership of the Summer Camp Director and Executive Director, they help ensure the smooth daily operation of camp. Support Staff provide oversight, encouragement, and assistance to the wider staff body, keeping programs, facilities, and community life running effectively so that campers and staff alike can thrive.
Support staff roles include but are not limited to: Program Coordinator, Media Coordinator, Head Cabin Leader, Housekeeping Coordinator, and Groundskeeping Coordinator.
